you heard it here first…well actually on instagram.
It’s always hard to go about these things. Do you tell people you moved cause you’re excited? If so, how do you tell them? Is it a weird announcement or are people wanting to know this information so that they can learn from your experience and such!?I don’t know but since I’m in the business of SEMI oversharing… WE MOVED & we couldn’t be happier! Previously we were living in a condo in North Scottsdale and had been talking about purchasing a home in Fall of 2020. After we got our puppy & were receiving all the wedding gifts, things at our condo become tight…FAST. One thing led to another and there we were 2 days before our wedding getting the offer we made accepted on the house we live in now. What a whirlwind! I have learned so much through this process. From learning how to buy a home, the back & forth that goes on, inspections, closing documents, etc. It’s actually very interesting! With that, let’s get onto the fun stuff! And to be quite frank, buying a house right after planning a wedding for 16 months was another hurdle! It’s crazy how much goes into it, and although our house was a new build there were so many things that the previous builders just decided not to do. One for instance, was when the movers were here asking where to hand the clothes and I realized that NONE of our closets had rods in them to hand the clothes…. well that was nice of them to NOT do. So the first couple weeks of moving in was quite the project! I am thankful for a handy husband who did so much those first few weeks!
Here is a starter guide for all the things that we bought for our home in the first month of living here. Hope you enjoy the home content coming your way because this is the kinda stuff that excites me and I can’t wait to get going on the decorating! I loveeee the shower curtain we got for one of our guest bathrooms, and it’s only $25 from Target! There are a couple splurge pieces on here as well, but full disclosure we most likely got them from our wedding registry as a gift! I like to keep a healthy balance between splurge pieces & more affordable pieces. Something we decided to spend $$ on was our media console below. We know that this is going to be a piece that we are going to love a long time & it is the focal point of our living room so we opted for that! But then on the other hand all of our rugs we’ve bought have been for under $300 which is a win for me cause who knew rugs could be SOOOO expensive, like why!? Another favorite of mine is the waffle towels from H&M Home. I love that they have a loop on the in the middle of the towel that you can hang on a towel hook… it’s the little things.
Enjoy a peak of my first round of home decor items that I bought… not at HomeGoods lol.
